It’s the perfect location to enjoy time with friends playing poker, chatting away, or watching the latest hockey game. And best of all, it’s away from everyone so nobody will be disturbed by the noise.
When you take time to set things up correctly, the garage can be an excellent place to hang out with friends after coming from a long day at work. Just leave your vehicle outside for a night and adapt the garage to fit your need.
The first thing you want to do is declutter the space. If you have some extra room in your basement or a shed, that’s the perfect place to store tires, tools, gardening supplies, sports accessories, bicycles, and other items. Another option is to get rid of things that aren’t used to make a bit more space.
Before the party, all you need to do is rearrange a portion of the garage. Bring down a television you can hook up to the cable or streaming device, an old couch, and a table to hold a deck of cards, bowl of chips, some chicken wings, cold beer, and a couple of bottles of wine. All you need besides that are some patio chairs to sit around the table. You and your friends can play some cards until the game starts. You can amp it up even farther with a small set of speakers and an iPhone to play some great music.
Keep the door open or closed, depending on your preference
If it’s summertime and the weather is nice, you can let in a cool breeze by leaving the garage door open. If you choose to do that, make sure you let your neighbors know there will be a small gathering in the garage, and there may be some cheering (assuming your team is winning!)
Alternatively, if you prefer a bit more privacy and don’t want the noise to carry, keep the door closed. Make sure the door is in great shape beforehand so if the party ends later, everyone can leave through the garage without disturbing anyone in your home.
